Leaders pour la paix

On Monday, May 14th, and Tuesday, May 15th, 2018, the first Leaders for Peace Conference was held in Paris.

The international NGO, established in 2017, brought together 25 leaders from around the world for two days of discussions at the Quai d’Orsay, focusing on a report written by Ambassador Pierre Vimont, former Executive Secretary-General of the European External Action Service.

This report focused on three emerging crises that could become global issues: the Tunisian-Libyan border and its European consequences; the climate crisis and its impact in Asia; and finally, the US-Mexico border. During the first day, the leaders discussed the Vimont report. A new edition of the post-debate report will be published soon.

On the second day, the leaders engaged in discussions with students from Sciences-Po Paris on the report’s topics as well as broader global issues in international politics.
